Flirting doesn’t come easily to everyone. Even the most confident people will freeze up and utter a wimpy "hey" when they see their crush approaching them in the hallways. But don’t be discouraged. If you have trouble flirting, there are plenty of tips that will help you master the art and win your crush’s affection.

    1. Be confident. There is nothing more sexy than confidence. If you walk down the streets like you own your clothes, everyone will notice. The girl who is special will be loved by your crush.

    2. Show interest in your loved ones’ lives. Everybody loves a compliment and almost everyone enjoys talking about themselves. Talk to your crush if you have the opportunity. Ask your crush lots of questions about their lives and show you are truly interested. They’ll appreciate how curious you were about them and they’ll def be looking forward to another conversation.

    3. Pay attention to your lips. It may sound absurd but it is actually very effective. Keep chapstick and lip gloss handy. When you see your crush coming your way, swipe on a layer. They’ll be dreaming about those lips all day long.

    4. When you see your crush in the hallways, smile and say hello. It’s scary to walk down the hall when your crush is approaching. You will likely react by looking down at your phone, pretending you are in a frantic text conversation. But ignore these instincts and look up at them. You don’t have to engage in a lengthy conversation (unless you choose to). Take a second to wave and say hi. Then, keep going. Boom, you’ll be on your crushes radar.

    5. But don’t forget your crush…for too long. This seems counterintuitive doesn’t you think? But imagine running into your crush and a group of their friends at McDonald’s. It’s a good idea to say hi to their friends before you start to make a group. Your crush will feel the tiniest bit left out, until you turn to include them (and make their day).

    6. The bump-and-flatter is a skill you should master. "Accidentally" meet a hottie in a crowd. You can make a joke and say "Oh sorry." I am a complete klutz around cute people. They’ll be immediately flattered and want to know more about you. You can then introduce yourself and start a conversation.

    7. Don’t look at them. I know, this seems so scary. Usually, when someone catches you staring you look away quickly so they don’t realize you were literally drooling while watching them eat a hamburger. This is what you should do next time. Get all of your confidence. Then when your crush catches you staring, smile back at them, maybe even wink. It will prove that you’re confident AF and will give them the excuse to come talk to you.

    8. Check out their clothes. If they’re wearing a band shirt or sport jersey, ask them about it. It will make them feel sincere and curious about their lives, and it will lead to a nice conversation in which you can learn more.

    9. Sometimes, be clear. It could be that you are playing frisbee and accidentally throw it towards one of the beauties. Exaggerated apologies can be used to let them know you aren’t just flirting (and in on a joke), and could even lead to a discussion.

    10. Introduce your friend. You don’t have to go it alone if you are too nervous to initiate a convo. Bring your friend along and introduce your crush to your friend. Although it may sound strange, sometimes it is easier to approach someone for another person.

    11. Fight before they see you. Text, "You should wear that blue shirt tonight–it makes your eyes look amazing 🙂 A flirty text lets your crush know you’re thinking of them and will get them excited to see you later. Also, it’s a great way to see if your advice was taken.

    12. Start off with something cheesy to break the ice. If you are thinking about picking up lines, the only ones coming to your door are likely super lame, recycled ones. "Did you feel it…when you fell from Heaven?"
